1. cheap robot vacuum pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also feature a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, affordable robot vacuum have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you are at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This top-performing combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. affordable robot vacuum comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they tend to be.
For larger houses it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
